Commonwealth’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme establishes inaugural NT delivery partner

The Darwin Innovation Hub, Northern Territory’s startup and innovation center, has been appointed as one of 7 Delivery Partners of the Entrepreneurs’ Programme across Australia by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.

“Being a local delivery partner of the Entrepreneurs’ Programme enables us to provide permanent, focused on the ground support to local Territory companies, a larger resourced team based across the Territory in Darwin and Alice Springs, and have a direct line to our other 6 delivery partners providing us with more leverage and gives a real local focus on outcomes for the program.” General Manager, Emma Nesbitt.

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme gives Territory businesses the opportunity to improve their growth capabilities and networks, engage with researchers, foster innovation and encourage commercialisation of novel products, processes and services through mentorship, grant funding and expert advice from some of the best specialist advisers in Australia.

“This comes at a great time for Territorians. Having a team of highly skilled facilitators means we can work towards faster economic recovery, more jobs and faster growth right across the Territory. Our team of facilitators are specialists with strong experience in developing and building leading companies, and we are very pleased to have been able to attract these facilitators to live and work within the Territory to help build local capacity.”

“The importance and commitment towards entrepreneurs, high growth business and innovation is a valuable component of a strong, prosperous economy. We will continue to successfully meet the growing demand in the Northern Territory and provide pathways for industry development and growth within local innovation.”

The program will focus on supporting NT businesses operating in the 5 growth sectors of Advanced Manufacturing, Food and Agribusiness, Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals, Mining Technologies, Oil and Gas, as well as enabling technologies for various sectors.

Commencing on 1 July 2020, Facilitators within the program will rotate throughout regional locations within the Territory with a full time Associate Facilitator to be based at Desert Knowledge Australia, Alice Springs and 3 full time Facilitators situated in Darwin.
