Great start to the National Innovation Games Renewable Energy Series!
Held at the Darwin Innovation Hub on Wednesday 8th September, the National Innovation Games saw many excited contestants from various companies participating to find solutions to transitioning to renewable energy, share their experience, energy needs and future ideas. The NT series was sponsored by ISACNT, the Northern Territory Government, National Energy Resources Australia, ABB and Darwin Innovation Hub. The National Innovation Games is a series of Innovation Challenges across Australia with the vision that collaboration between small businesses, industry and emerging talent help to find new ways to create more sustainable communities for everyone.
The games began with an encouraging speech from guest speaker, Minister Eva Lawler, with fifteen teams working together with industry experts to develop winning solutions and ideas for small businesses.
Congratulations to Team 1 – Prana Power Team for pitching the winning idea and thanks to all those participating.
Prana Power team designed a pilot program using renewable energy with a nutritional health education program in remote indigenous communities to assist and ease the health care system’s pressure. Their design program includes two main components:
- Education: practical healthcare lessons for families
- Energy: 10 Solar panels with a 5 kW battery system
