A thrilling win for local innovation! Darwin’s own Connecting Dots has just landed immediate placement in phase 2 of the Business Innovation Program valued at $30,000 after wowing judges at this year’s Croc Pitch competition. The exciting showdown, hosted at the Darwin Innovation Hub on October 24th, saw this clever local startup swim ahead of the pack with their game-changing collaboration platform.
Think of Connecting Dots as a digital town square where businesses, government agencies, and organisations can finally stop playing phone tag and start getting things done together. It’s like LinkedIn meets Slack, but with a distinctly Territory twist!
Paspalis Innovation Investment Fund (PIIF) and the NT Government’s Business Innovation Program clearly saw the potential. They’ve given Connecting Dots the green light to jump into Stage 2 of the Business Innovation Program, backing their vision with some serious funding muscle.
And here’s what makes this extra special – the team behind Connecting Dots isn’t just building another app. They’re crafting a digital bridge that helps Territory organisations work together smoothly, whether they’re tackling climate challenges or boosting local business growth.
Sarawanan CEO of Connecting Dots couldn’t contain his excitement, expressing “Landing as runner-up at Croc Pitch was like dipping a toe in croc-infested waters – thrilling, of NT. Little scary, and incredibly rewarding! The competition was fierce, with all nine finalists bringing equally innovative ideas and products, so coming in second was truly exhilarating. We’re stoked to have Apply Cyber, our AI powered cyber security and compliance tool from NT to the rest of the world, where smart solutions and daring ideas rule the waters.”
But here’s the exciting part – this is just the beginning. While the platform is currently making waves in the Territory, the team has their sights set on bigger waters. They’re dreaming up ways to help organisations across Australia (and beyond!) work together better than ever before.
With this fresh funding in their pocket and the backing of the Business Innovation Program, Connecting Dots is all set to become the Territory’s next big tech success story. And let’s be honest – in a place where we deal with real crocs, these tech crocs are a lot more friendly!
