What is Croc Pitch?
Croc Pitch is Northern Australia’s premier startup pitch contest, run by the Darwin Innovation Hub and backed by Paspalis Capital. Each year, a cohort of founders and innovators from across Australia and around the world compete for the chance to pitch in front of a panel of industry experts — including Paspalis Investment Manager Alex Farrugia — before the Paspalis Investment Committee convenes to decide where to invest.
The format is unforgiving: 10 minutes to make your case, then 10 minutes of Q&A from a panel of industry experts who will find every gap in your pitch. No fluff. No theatre. Just the clearest, most compelling argument for why your innovation deserves backing in the North.
Why Northern Australia?
The Northern Territory is one of the most strategically significant and underinvested regions in the country. It is also one of the most demanding proving grounds on earth. The conditions here don’t forgive weak solutions. That is exactly the point.
From advanced manufacturing and space technology to remote operations, agriculture, and dual-use innovation, the NT offers a proving ground unlike anywhere else in Australia. Companies that can operate here, test here, and scale from here have a genuine edge.
What to expect in 2026
Registrations open 1 July. The information session, your best chance to understand what the investment committee is looking for before you apply, is on 17 July. Registrations close 6 August.
