Business Acceleration Program Part Two: Growth Modules

Intensive modules for the CEO/MD and two Executive Team members 

Three, three-day modules over a nine-month period 

The Growth Modules are a series of three, three-day modules that teach CEOs/MDs and their Executive Team how to lead, manage and grow their companies. The Growth Modules are designed for teams of three per company because we understand the importance of Executive Teams learning together, identifying problems inhibiting growth, and working together to develop solutions and strategies for growth. Each three-day module focuses on different components of the Knowledge Framework for Growth that are introduced at the Growth Clinic:

  • Products and services (designing and delivering products customers want/need)
  • Marketing and sales (selecting the right channels to reach target customers)
  • Dealing with externalities (tracking and anticipating things that impact your business over which you have no control)
  • Building the organisation (providing the leadership required to grow a company, developing a plan, building the infrastructure, choosing the right people and building a culture for growth)
  • Financing growth (selecting the right strategy to finance growth)
  • Managing yourself as a leader (how to manage yourself when the company begins to grow)

The Growth Modules provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience that includes expert presentations, facilitated group discussions, peer-to-peer learning, action planning, and accountability.

The three, three-day Growth Modules are spaced three to four months apart, and the CEO/MD must commit to bringing at least two other Executives to all three modules.

The course content has been designed by Dr Jana Matthews and is delivered by a team of Growth Experts, all of whom have started, grown and exited companies, hence have a broad base of experience growing different types of companies in different industries.

Tools, Resources & Support

During and after each Growth Module, teams receive access to webinars, interactive tools, resources and ‘Dr Jana Refreshers’ that help them stay on track, implement their goals and strategies, and grow.

Growth Module Format 

Days One and Two 

  • Presentations by Growth Experts
  • Facilitated Group Discussions and Action Planning

Day Three 

  • Companies develop and present their Growth Action Plan, based on their learnings from the module. Companies receive constructive feedback and advice from Growth Experts and the Executives of the other in their cohort.

 

Prep-work and Expectations 

All participants (CEOs/MDs and Executives) are expected to attend all three days of all three Growth Modules. Participants are expected to fully engage in all program activities and complete all preparation work, on time. Companies are expected to commit to the program and to execute the changes they have identified.

 

Participation in the Growth Modules is by invitation, after a company has completed a Growth Clinic.

 

Program Criteria 

Companies that benefit most from the Growth Modules are those with at least $1 million in revenue and 5-200 employees. The CEO and the Executive Team need to have a burning desire to grow, and must be eager to learn how to achieve rapid, sustainable growth. They need to be willing to make changes in the company (organisational, people, market, product, and financial) in order to achieve growth.

Growth Module Fee 

The Northern Territory Government is partially subsidising the Growth Modules for 10 Northern Territory companies. In 2018, the cost for the CEO/MD plus two Executives to attend all three, three-day modules is $12,000 (excl GST). The usual cost of the Growth Modules is $36,000 (excl GST).
