How to give your first keynote presentation [After Hours]

May 4 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am ACST

Get up bright and early and join us for this Saturday morning class – with breakfast!

Date: Sat May 4 2024

Time: 09:00 AM

Location: Darwin Innovation Hub

This 2-hour workshop is all about getting you ready to rock your first keynote presentation. Forget the formalities; we’re here to break down what makes a keynote speech stand out and how you can make yours unforgettable. We’ll start by figuring out what your main message is and how to make it click with your audience, making sure you leave a lasting impression.

We’re going to walk you through building your presentation from the ground up, focusing on how to start strong, keep your audience hooked, and wrap up in a way that makes everyone want to take action. Expect lots of tips on telling stories that stick, designing visuals that pop, and owning the stage like you were born to be there.

You’ll get hands-on with activities that help you find your unique style of presenting, from the way you move to how you hit those notes just right to keep things interesting. We’ll also tackle the jitters – everyone gets them, and we’ve got some cool tricks to help you keep calm and carry on, even when things don’t go as planned.

By the time we wrap up, you’ll know all about making the most of your speaker notes, practicing till you’re perfect, and getting feedback to tweak your talk. Plus, we’ll chat about how to boost your speaker profile with a bit of savvy social media magic. Whether you’re stepping up for your first keynote or just keen to improve your public speaking game, this workshop’s going to give you the know-how and confidence to make it happen.

A light breakfast of yogurt and muesli, croissants and pastries will be provided to attendees.

As this is a free event, dietary restrictions are not considered. If you have any special dietary needs, you are welcome to bring your own food to the venue. Coffee, Tea and Iced Water will be made available to all attendees.

This in-person class is delivered by Director – Innovation & Investment Readiness, Dante St James, as part of Darwin Innovation Hub’s Start NT program.
