Helen Ujvary and Jake Burgess
Helen was appointed as the departments Innovator in Residence in September 2017. Jake and Helen will discuss how the Innovator in Residence program assists early start up and existing innovation businesses through introductions to; investors with access to finance, knowledge partners and universities across Australia and Internationally, IP experts and key IP Lawyers and Australian and International Business networks.
Jake has been working with the department for over six years and will discuss some of the seed funding options the department can offer through the Business Innovation Support Initiatives (BISI) Program and the Mastering Innovation NT Network.
Andrew Thorogood
Small Business Champions Team
Andrew is the department’s Manager of the Southern region Small Business Champions Team. Andrew will discuss some of the support initiatives for businesses through the range of start.run.grow programs offered by the Small Business Champions team.
Dr Steve Rogers
Centre for Appropriate Technology
Steve is the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Appropriate Technology Limited (CfAT). CfAT is an Aboriginal not-for-profit company, headquartered in Alice Springs, NT. CfAT’s focus is on supporting sustainable and enterprising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through innovation, capacity building and employment.
CfAT are a successful BISI recipient and will be discussing how their Hotspot MKIII Project was developed and supported through the BISI program.
Networking and question time after presentations with a light lunch supplied by the department.
