Mastering Innovation Northern Territory presents Never Too Late To Code
Please join us to hear from the following presenters:
Justin Schmidt – Making your own ‘Internet of Things’ project
Justin is interested in people and technology and has developed a number of interactive art pieces that use bespoke software that he likes to write. Justin is completing a Masters in environmental data logging and some of his projects can be found at overcast.net.au.
Justin will showcase an amazing new Wi-Fi module (the ESP8266) that allows anyone with a little interest and persistence to make and develop smart IoT objects. For a few dollars learn how ‘makers’ (like you) are creating gadgets that combine electronics and software to add to the growing ‘Internet of Things’. Justin will also demonstrate a module using open source technologies that logs temperature and graphs the results in real time back to the web.
Raul L. Monteiro Moizao – What other ideas do you have for this new technology? Innovation Tools for New Information based Business
Raul Moizao is a Computer Science Engineer, with a Masters of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligent. He has developed scientific work in Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks and Artificial Life in different research projects1, as the European Space Agency – Solar Array Performance Degradation2 as example. He abandoned the academic life in 2006, after 8 years as Professor, for a challenging project in Africa, where he worked as the Director of Northern Region for the Angolan Voter’s Registration Project and later as the Technical Director of the National Data Centre. Currently he works in the territory, teaching Engineering and Robotics; developing and researching open-source software and introducing students to Computer Programming, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. In this presentation he will debate available innovation tools, in these areas, able to boost previous knowledge into the information age, most of them available at no cost and able to foment new business.
