‘Bruce Munro: Tropical Light’ will be the first major event for our Tropical Summer and is part of the Government’s $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package, which is investing in festivals and events that support improved liveability, tourism and local jobs.
The exhibition is the catalyst for helping change the way people view the wet season, join us to learn how you, as a business owner can get involved.
Known around the world for ‘Field of Light’ at Uluru, the new exhibition will be largest Australian exhibition undertaken by Mr Munro, featuring eight immersive large-scale light installations.
The illuminated sculptures will be connected by a centralised self-guided path people can wander along, with each piece intended to inspire interest during the day and hold special significance when illuminated at night.
The path has been designed to allow local Darwin artists to have their work featured, creating a vibrant 2.5km art trail through the Darwin CBD that will enable local businesses to get involved.
The display will include collection of new and existing work that reflects Mr Munro’s experiences in Australian and the Territory, including Darwin’s natural beauty, distinct wildlife, welcoming locals and spectacular sunsets.
