To further the already strong Australia – Hong Kong relation, the Australia-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement and associated Investment Agreement were signed by the respective ministers in late March this year in Sydney.
As an international financial and business centre providing world-class business and professional services, Hong Kong is a key driver of integration and connectivity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), an area comprising of over 70 million people and a GDP of AUD2.2 trillion.
The latest promulgation of the GBA Outline Development Plan, released in February this year, will bring enormous opportunities for trade activities and business opportunities in Australia.
With the signing of the FTA and the development of the GBA, there will be further growth and development of the relationship between Hong Kong and NT.
Mr Raymond Fan, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, will talk about the Aust-HK FTA and the Greater Bay Area development, which will bring unlimited opportunities to businesses in Northern Territory. Dr Luca De Leonardis, Head for Australia and New Zealand, Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), will talk about investment opportunities in Hong Kong.
