Incubator Scholarships
Darwin Innovation Hub 3 Month Scholarship for Start-ups and Entrepreneurs
Four times per year, the DIH offers the opportunity for Northern Territory based start-ups and entrepreneurs to develop their business within the fastest growing Incubator Hub in Northern Australia.
The Scholarship includes access to the DIH Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Expert-in-Residence program, national and international industry leaders and mentors, professional business development workshops, plus
- Access to the DIH Incubator Lab (24/7)
- Access to DIH member only events including DIH Workshops (Free of charge)
- Discounts to 3rd party events at DIH
- Access to DIH lounge area and meeting rooms (bookings required)
- Free Wi-Fi and limited printing facilities
- Connection to the DIH startup community
- Discounted Events space
- Kitchen Area
The Scholarship:
- Each Scholarship will be for a 3-6 month period only. Each Scholarship round will be open the month prior to the Scholarship period i.e.: Dec for Jan to Mar, Mar for April to June, June* for July to Sept and Sept for Oct to Dec.
- Each Round will be open for 10 days. Who is awarded and number of Scholarships offers per round will be determined by the DIH only and no negotiation will be entered into.
- Previous recipients of DIH Scholarships will be eligible to apply for the following scholarship period.
- The successful Recipient of the Scholarship will work from the DIH Incubator Lab for the period of 3-6 months.
- This Recipient will be responsible for developing and implementing a business plan in consultation with the DIH management team. At the completion of the scholarship the Recipient will present to the DIH the development of their business plans.
- The Recipient will be expected to report to the Expert-in-Residence and may be required to have standing weekly meetings and workshops to keep on track of progress and tasks
Applicants may be individuals or companies large or small.
We seek:
- Ideas that will have a direct positive effect for the Northern Territory
- Innovation that is impactful and relevant
- Coachable founders and inventors who are willing to engage with others, attract other skillsets to the team and complete hard but necessary tasks
- Commitment – we want you to prove your commitment to your plan. We expect you to treat your idea as an already flourishing business and treat us as part of your committed team. You can count on us, to count on you. We expect your attendance at monthly events and regular meetings with your mentor.

Preference will be given to scholarship proposals that show the following characteristics as determined by the DIH:
- Realistic chance of commercialisation
- A founder with the capacity to make the project successful (attach CV)
- A founder with a commitment to success
