NASA Project in the Northern Territory

A 27 member team from NASA is enroute to Arnhem Land ready to kick-start Australia’s role in the space race.
NASA representatives, including Operations Manager Scott Bissett, and Equatorial Launch Australia’s CEO, Carley Scott were officially in Darwin on Friday 24th September 2021 after quarantining.

The 27 members from NASA will spend 6 weeks on site setting up. 10 hectares of land have been cleared for this NASA project in the Northern Territory with the rocket launch site expected to be completed within 12 months. Three rockets are scheduled to set off in 2022 to recover items that have been sent into space, such as important and expensive telescopes.
