What to expect…

Launched in 2020, and presented by the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation’s Indigenous Fashion Projects, the prestigious awards ceremony provides a vibrant and exciting platform to celebrate First Nations textiles and fashion, whilst contributing to the capacity building of the sector.

Returning for the second year, the NIFA received 31 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander designer, artist and Art Centre nominations from the textiles and fashion design community.

Join us as we celebrate the talent and innovation of the nominees across each of the six award categories:

  • Special Recognition

The NIFA is proudly sponsored by the Northern Territory Government, via NT Major Events Company, along with a host of industry supporters including Australian lifestyle brand Country Road, RMIT University, Darwin Innovation Hub, NITV, marie claire and the Australian Fashion Council.
