Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA)
This tremendously exciting project is a sign of things to come for the future of the Nhulunbuy and the North East Arnhem economy. The project partners with Gumatj Corporation, traditional owners of the land that will see the development of a space port that will become a launch site for NASA and other space organisations. In 2019 NASA announced its plans to use the spaceport to launch sounding rockets which test instruments used on satellites and spacecraft.
PIIF venture capital funds have been used for launch site planning, various technical studies required by NASA, site excavation and business development of the project.
DIH has also worked with ELA and the Northern Territory Government to build its network of customers and stakeholders through our space industry relationships in Singapore with such organisations as Aliena and the Satellite Research Centre at Nanyang Technological University.
ELA is a corporate member of the DIH and we look forward to them reaching for the sky in Arnhem Land!!
