Corrosion Instruments (CI) is a Northern Territory based tech startup, developing an Internet of Things (IoT) technology to survey and monitor oil and gas pipelines.
After several years in the pipeline industry, founder Sam Pattemore identified many potential improvements for the monitoring and measurement of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems, a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface.
Corrosion Instruments’ technology accurately measures CP, collecting data in real time, improving an outdated and costly process by providing a tool that didn’t exist before, the CP-Pro.
Corrosion Instruments joins the Darwin Innovation Hub as the 2019 Croc Pitch winner, and was awarded $100,000 venture capital investment from the Paspalis Innovation Investment Fund and an additional $50,000 Business Innovation Funding from the Northern Territory Government.
